Old Ukrainian Home Hostel

We do not boast and do not claim for the name of "the very best"hostel. But you can surely expect the most ukrainian hostel, full of handmade furniture&stuff. Our workers have spent enormous efforts gathering in the hostel antiquarian ukrainian household articles, kitchen ware, furniture.

We are located in the central and one of the most busiest parts of the city - near the National Ivan Franko University,though in a quiet place with very littlle traffic. Facing the university - turn into the left street - and we are under Nr. 12 - in an old austrian building.

Hostel consists of 4 spacious rooms with thick wooden furniture, wooden parquet, kitchen and the reception-lounge.

Hostelling is not a europian, it is old ukrainian tradition. It has it`s roots deep in the history of the ukrainian nation, being always famous for it`s hospitality,generosity and open-heartedness. It has since old times been the custom among ukrainian people to invite travellers into the house and to give them a warm treatment. Travelling and wandering was popular in Ukraine since old ages.

Remember only a travelling ukrainian philosopher Grygorij Skovoroda.
